A
short documentary film produced, shot and directed
by Firewater's Eric Ristau, Warming Island follows
the first expedition to a newly charted island on
the East Coast of Greenland, 400 miles North of the
Arctic Circle. Discovered by explorer Dennis Schmitt,
this geographical feature was always mapped as a peninsula,
but warming temperatures have melted the isthmus,
revealing the island. Featured on the New York Times
website and on MSU's Terra: The Nature of Our World,
footage from this film has been seen on CNN, BBC,
ABC, ITN, and countless local stations. Click
